Literary panel kicks off Eugenia Abu at 50 celebration

The event which flagged off a four day series of events to mark the celebrations had a panel comprising of award winning journalist Alkasim Abdulkadir, budding poet Hajo Isa and entrepreneur Deji Fisho and was chaired by Abuja Literary Society Slam Master Mr. Ken Ike.
The session opened with poetry readings by friends of Mrs. Abu and when the panel opened for discussion, the panellist were in agreement that Mrs. Abu’s writing have a social significance garnished with patriotic fervour.
Commenting at the end of the event, Eugenia Abu said her journey as a writer began in 1981 when her first article was published in the Guardian and said she is surprised how times, has flown by.
She thanked all those who attended the event and those who have mentored her in her career as a broadcaster and writer.
