Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is under immense pressure as it is, after missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City by whiskers last season, the Merseyside club has found life without Luis Suarez and injured star Daniel Sturridge to be difficult as it has only won four of its fourteen matches this term and are currently 11th place on the table.
Rodgers’s side have scored just 14 league goals this season with strikers Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert failing to find the net. Balotelli picked up a hamstring injury on international duty with Italy and may be a doubt today’s game.
