Liverpool to face Manchester City, Arsenal visit Southampton in FA Cup quarter finals

Liverpool have been drawn to face Manchester City following the FA Cup quarter final draw held on Monday.

The quarter final matches will be played on the first weekend in April.

The match between Man City and Liverpool will take place at City’s Etihad stadium, with a place in the last four stage of the oldest club competition in football up for grabs.

Both sides had dispatched Newcastle and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively by a similar 3-1 scoreline.

Liverpool, eight-time winners of the FA Cup, will look to salvage their inconsistent season, with only the FA Cup and UCL title still up for grabs. They face an uphill task against seven-time winners City, who have defeated the Reds twice already this season. However, Liverpool defeated City 3-2 in their most recent meeting at the semi finals of the competition in 2022, en route to winning their eighth title.

Other matchups include Arsenal, the most successful team in the competition with 14 titles, visiting Southampton to continue their quadruple dream, while eight-time winners Chelsea will welcome giantkillers Port Vale to Stamford Bridge.

The winner of Monday night’s fifth round fixture between West Ham United and Brentford will host Leeds United in the second all-EPL clash.
