In a bid to escape relegation, the board of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, has announced the appointment of Mohammed BabaGanaru as new Head Coach on an interim basis.

The Chairman of the club, Dr. Philip Nongu, stated that the appointment became necessary following the resignation of the former Technical Adviser, Daniel Amokachi after a string of poor results.

He, therefore, cited Lobi Stars current precarious standing on the NPFL table as one of the reasons for the decision to recall Ganaru who left the club in 2023.

Nongu appealed to fans of Lobi Stars not to relent in their support for the club.

“Everything we do at the moment is for the good of our beloved club. While we welcome criticisms, they should be constructive and aimed at enhancing our performance.

Let us remain steadfast in our support, knowing that with God, nothing is impossible,” he was quoted as saying.

Dr. Nongu expressed confidence in the ability of the new coach and reaffirmed the management’s commitment to providing him with the necessary support to ensure the club retains its NPFL status.

In a related development, the board also constituted a management team with a former player of Lobi Stars, Lawrence Adoga, as Team Manager.

Others are Solomon Aondoaka who is to serve as Accountant, Emmanuel Uja, Media Director, while Christopher Ayom was appointed Team Nurse, Felix Pilakyaa as Welfare Officer and John Gaadi as Goalkeepers’ Trainer.
