Speaking to Feverpitch on phone, the former international said the match has come at the right time and the club would judiciously utilize it because there is every need for new players to be tested with such a high profile match.

Iorfa said the club has been in camp for close to a month and went on break during the Christmas celebrations but the players have since resumed and would give a good account of themselves.

He expressed hope that at the end of the friendly match, Eagles coach and ex-captain, Stephen Keshi would see at least one or two players in Lobi Stars to invite to the national team.

Iorfa said Lobi boasts of some of the best players on the local scene but they are hidden stars because he discovered most of them from the amateur clubs.

“It is a good thing that we have been invited to play a friendly against the Home Based Eagles. It is an opportunity for us to test some of our new players. We need such a high profile match to test some of them.

“It is also my fervent hope that at the end of the match, coach Keshi would identify at least one or two of the players he would invite to the national camp. He is re-building and I am confident he would find some good players in Lobi”.

Iorfa maintained that Lobi will give the Eagles a good match because it is going to be an NPL match in a different guise.

“My team will give the Eagles a good game. For me it’s just like any other NPL match. Most of the players we are going to meet are from the NPL clubs that we have met several times in the league”.
