The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, Engineer Simbi Kesiye Wabote has said that deepening local content in the nation’s oil and gas will revive the ailing economy and create employment for the unemployed youths in Nigeria.
Wabote, who spoke weekend at the tour of facilities of Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base(LADOL) in Lagos, also said that the economy downtown has challenged the government to look for innovative ways to get Nigerians employed.
“The present administration is working very hard to ensure that jobs are created for Nigerians. This period of economy downtown, as a result of fall in the price of oil, also give us a challenge as a government to look for innovative ways to get Nigerians employed,” he said.
According to him, LADOL is the only 100 per cent indigenous peopled logistics base in Nigeria.
“We are delighted to see LADOL grow and diversify into various services as she prepares fabrication, logistics among others,and taking full advantage on the implementation of Local Content Act.”
