Local content: Women urge investors to create job for members

The appeal was made at a one day event on business opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs in the oil and gas sector organized by NNEW in collaboration with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in Port Harcourt at the weekend
Speaking with journalists at the event, Chairperson of NNEW South-South, Dr Josephine Diette-Spiff said, “The forum will create a platform for business diversification for participants that are now well- enlightened on what is available in the Nigeria local content on ways to create job opportunities in country. Beyond these business diversification opportunities, the forum was a platform to create linkage with Shell.”
According to her, the network aims to give valuable ideas to entrepreneurs to turn small businesses to multinational companies with linkages around the world, just as she charged the participants to ensure that a right structure is built around their businesses.
