Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Taraba State, Bala Bako, has revealed that council areas in the state are losing millions of naira to insecurity challenges.
Bala, who is also the chairman of Ibbi Local Government Area in the state, said insecurity had affected businesses and farming activities in the state.
He said many rural markets across the 16 local government areas of the state are not fully functional due to insecurity.
The ALGON chairman said fall in local revenue has affected revenue generation thereby affecting the provision of basic amenities to the people at the grassroots.
He called for a collective effort by the stakeholders, state and federal government to address insecurity in the state.
