‘Local govts are springboard to mass housing’

Speaking with Daily Trust in Abuja, a manager with World Trade Housing Development Limited, Dr Haruna Mamza, said the best way to tackle housing deficit in Nigeria is for states and local governments to put in stakes especially provision of unencumbered land.
“A local government can write us requesting us to build houses for its people if it provides land and list of uptakers.
“The uptakers must be contributing to the National Housing Fund. We’re for the low income earners,” said Mamza.
He said his company is prepared to partner local governments to build modern markets, motor parks, abattoirs and mechanic shops.
