Love FM and Independence Television (ITV) have pledged to partner with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT chapter, to amplify the voices of women, particularly those in rural communities.
This commitment was made during separate courtesy visits to the media houses by the NAWOJ FCT chapter, led by its chairperson, Mrs Bassey Ita-Ikpang, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Ita-Ikpang explained that the visits were part of activities marking the 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD), with the theme ‘Accelerate Action’.
She emphasised the importance of prioritising issues affecting women towards bringing about the change needed to promote gender equality and empowerment for the benefit of the nation.
She added that the association’s sub-theme, ‘Amplifying the Voice of Rural Women’, aligned with NAWOJ’s commitment to ensure that the voices of rural women were heard, recognised and valued.’’
