A 500-level student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA ), Adejimola Ebenezer, arrested in connection with the murder of her girlfriend, Ajila Oluwaseun, has denied any involvement in her death.
Ebenezer told newsmen at the Ondo State police command headquarters yesterday in Akure that the deceased was like a sister to him and he would be happy if her killers were fished out.
According to him, he was a member of the same church with the deceased, a graduate of the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, and would not want her dead for any reason.
The spokesman for the Ondo State police command, Femi Joseph, told journalists that the 60-year-old mother of the deceased, Mrs Yemisi Ajayi, reported the case at about 8pm on October 4, 2018.
According to Joseph, the mother told the police that she came back from work that fateful evening to find Oluwaseun lying in a pool of blood.
On close observation, he said, it was discovered that she had been stabbed to death.
Ebenezer was said to have been arrested because he was believed to be the boyfriend who was bombarding her with frequent calls.
The PPRO said the police were still investigating the matter.
