The corpses of a man and a woman suspected to be lovers have been found in a room in the Ayeyemi area in Ondo city, headquarters of Ondo West LGA of Ondo State.

City & Crime gathered that the man, identified simply as Eric, and his lover, whose identity was yet to be discovered, entered his room in a newly built apartment but were found dead at the weekend.

A resident, who pleaded anonymity, told our reporter that the lovers earlier put on their generator to charge their mobile phones in a socket placed on the bed before the tragic incident occurred.

He said, “We saw their corpses from the window when we didn’t see them come out of the building the following morning. We had to break the door to find our way inside.

“By the time we entered the apartment, we noticed that the woman had on her neck a chain and she was directly by the socket; this could have led to their electrocution.”

Another resident, who simply identified himself as Ayoola, said the corpses were discovered after some friends checked on him following failed attempts to reach him on his mobile phone.

He said, “By the time they got to his residence, they looked through the window and saw the corpses, and then broke the door to gain access into the house.”

Police spokeswoman in Ondo State, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview.
