Unlike what was obtainable during the presidential election, there was low turnout of voters in kano metropolis, our correspondents have observed.

As early as  7.00 am during the presidential and national Assembly elections, polling units in the state metropolis and outskirts were filled to their capacity.

However, our correspondents report that in today’s election, many polling units visited in the state metropolis were  scanty. In Gandun Albasa, Mandawari, Emir’s palace among others only few voters were seen on queue when compared to the presidential election.

Meanwhile, our correspondents report  early arrival of INEC officials to polling units. Around 7.30am, the ad hoc officials were seen arriving polling units.

During the presidential election, the INEC officials arrived around 11.00 am, a situation that delayed the commencement of the exercise in the state.

Our correspondents also reports that tick haze was witnessed in the state metropolis making visibility poor.
