Luka told Daily Trust that his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has uncovered a secret residence of two US nationals within the premises of Government House, serving as a hub where rigging would be allegedly coordinated during the election.
“Our party is aware of this plot whereby two Americans will coordinate rigging during the governorship election. They are in Government House. They arrived about two weeks ago and have been residing secretly there. We discovered that they are being sponsored by the APC to aide in the rigging of the election,” Luka alleged.
He alleged further that the duo have been going round to collect data from the electorate, adding that “they were in Keffi last week. People called and informed us that the Americans came around, collecting data from the electorate,” he alleged.
He said the party is still deliberating on this piece of information, and will formerly write relevant authorities including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to investigate and ascertain the identity and mission of the two foreigners.
When contacted the information commissioner, Hamza Elayo, denied the allegations of foreigners camped in Government House for any mission.
He said: “I am not aware of any foreigners brought to rig elections. APC, Nasarawa State is working hard to win elections based on its performance in the first term. Our ‘Seeing is Believing’ slogan speaks volume about our campaign strategy.”
