Lulu-Briggs: Even if Wike appoints one million aides, Accord Will Win in Rivers

The governorship candidate of Accord Party in Rivers , Barrister Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has said the 200,000 Units Special Assistants recently appointed by Governor Nyesom Wike  is inconsequential and will not in anyway alter the decision of Rivers people to effect change in the governance of the state.

Lulu-Briggs, who spoke with Daily Trust shortly after the inauguration of his 207 member campaign council in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, said even if Wike appoints one million SAs, it’s still inconsequential.

Dumo Lulu-Briggs said governance required a great leader that can feel the pulse of the people, saying the people of the state are yearning for change come 2023 governorship election.

He said the oil rich Rivers is at a nosedive because of poor leadership and pointed out that Accord Party is out to liberate the people of the State from maladministration imposed on them.

He regretted that civil servants in the state as well as pensioner have not been taken good care of, promising to run a policy governance that will take good care of the civil servants and provide for their needs.

“I have delayed to inaugurate our campaign council because of the calamity that befall our people who were affected by flood. We are going to unveil our manifesto and begin our campaign. We must put down hate and get people to work. We are going to commit every thing at our disposal to ensure that we do things that can impact on our people a nd create jobs for our people.

“Wike’s 200,000 SAs is inconsequential if he likes let him appoint one million SAs ,we will win the 2023 governorship election. We should listen and understand what the people are saying to understand their feelings and what they want. There are no jobs, pensioners are not paid and election has to do with the needs of the people. Election is in the hands of people and they are to decide who to lead them. If you are casting your vote you should do it in a way that you are voting for your good,” he said.
