MAAUN founder donates N10m, building to Alliance Française

The Founder of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has donated a two-storey building consisting of  classrooms, digital language laboratories, multimedia studios, and learning-engineered furniture to the Alliance Française Kano.

Gwarzo also donated N10 million as operational funding to support the smooth running and sustainability of the centre.

The building, located at Ahmadiyya Junction along Airport Road in Kano, was unveiled by the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Marc Fonbaustier, alongside Prof. Gwarzo on Wednesday and is meant to serve as a French language and cultural training centre in Northern Nigeria.

According to Prof. Gwarzo, the establishment of such an ultra-modern edifice will greatly boost bilingual education in Kano and give students access to world-class French language training.

In his address, the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Marc Fonbaustier, commended Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for donating the edifice and equipping it with world-class facilities.

The Envoy prayed to God to grant Prof. Gwarzo long life and good health so he can continue the remarkable humanitarian and educational contributions he has been known for.

The Director of Alliance Française Kano, Ali Dabo, expressed profound appreciation to Prof. Gwarzo for the building and the extensive facilities provided.

He noted that in the decades of the centre’s presence in Kano, no individual has redesigned, transformed, or upgraded the centre to this exceptional standard the way Prof. Gwarzo has done.

He further thanked Prof. Gwarzo for finally providing the organisation with a permanent and dignified office after operating as a tenant for over a decade.
