The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MCBAN) in Plateau State has applauded the security personnel of Operation Enduring Peace for recovering 56 cattle rustled around UTC company area of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the State.

Secretary of the group in Barkin Ladi, Abubakar Gambo, told journalists in Jos that the prompt response by the security personnel, stationed in Dorowan Babuje, led to the recovery of the rustled cattle.

According to the group’s secretary, the rustlers invaded the herding community around 7 pm after the cattle had returned home.

He said, “As soon as the rustlers invaded the community, they started firing bullets to scare the residents. They shot four cattle and rustled the remaining 56. The residents of the community quickly informed the security, who swiftly trailed the rustlers and recovered the cattle.”

Gambo added that the cattle were recovered after an exchange of fire between the security personnel and the assailants.

The group commended the personnel of the operation led by the commander, saying, “We are happy with the development because if not for the efforts of the security, we would have lost the cattle. But the soldiers were able to arrive on time and track down the perpetrators.”
