The members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria ( MACBAN) , kogi state chapter , are set to converge in Lokoja , the capital of kogi state to seek for a lasting solution to incessant clash between their members and the farmers across the state.

The state chairman of MACBAN , Umar Yusuf Damina in the company of his secretary, Adamu Mohammed disclosed this in Lokoja on Tuesday while speaking to newsmen.

He said it has become imperative for fulani (herders) living in the state to meet over challenges affecting the members, particularly over the deteriorating security situation in the state ,and the country in general.

“Fulani herders living in kogi are meeting in Lokoja , the headquarters of the state coming Saturday in view of the present insecurity situation . Members are expected to review the issue of fulani and farmers frequent clash across the state ,and its likes; and find a suitable lasting solution to it”, he said.

He enjoined all members to attend the meeting on 29th November, as they seek to x-ray reasons behind such clashes , and resolve it to minimize its occurrence .

Meanwhile, MACBAN chairman implored all their members to be vigilant and conscious because of crisis of insecurity that has bedeviled the society in the country.

Recalled that some communities across the state have been trading words with the herders over alleged destruction of their farm crops by their cattle, while on grazing.

Two months back, herders in some local governments in the kogi east had to sign a Memorandum of understanding , involving security operatives, with host communities to scale down the crisis involving MACBAN members and farmers in the flank.
