The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau State has described the invasion of the Senate chamber by thugs as a show of shame, saying the Senate President or House of Representatives Speaker could have easily been moved away.
In a statement signed by its state chairman, Dr. Soja Bewarang, CAN said the invasion was a red signal that the country’s security system was bad.
“For Nigerians and indeed the International Community to watch some people invading proudly into the hallowed chamber and carting away the mace which is the symbol of authority of the legislature is to confirm that all is not well in our country and nobody is safe anymore,” CAN stated.
