Maiduguri attack: What are defence chiefs waiting for to quit?

It is unthinkable for such a horrendous attack to take place with such great ease. How on earth can such thing be allowed to happen? Does it mean that there are no barriers, physical and electronic, in and around important institutions and potential targets like barracks, airports, military installations, etc?
We are a bunch of unserious people.  What do you see during day time in all areas where there are security challenges? We know from our experiences, and from reports in the media, that there are military personnel involved in intimidating, harassing, molesting, and even robbing innocent law abiding citizens.
The commanders filling themselves with alcohol and drugs, bloated with luxurious food, sleeping in air-conditioned mansions have not done anything to merit the lifestyle that the nation pays for. What result do we get instead? Massive failure! One massive failure after another.
The military people have to sit up. They have to change tactics, think ahead of the enemy and create surprise operational procedures.   What happened in Maiduguri on Monday morning is really a sad commentary on the military.  Period!
