Mailantarki Academy defeated Landa Boys Football Academy of Gombe State to emerge winner of the inaugural edition of the Northern Group Tournament held in Gombe State.

The U-15 football tournament which was sponsored by Galaxy Backbone Limited and in honour of its MD/CEO, Professor Muhammad Bello Abubakar was organised to raise awareness about the company’s services and its efforts at supporting young entrepreneurs in the state.

In his remarks shortly before the presentation of prizes to the various winners, the MD/ CEO Professor Muhammad Abubakar, said the tournament will be an annual event aimed at encouraging young talents in football, as well as presenting them with the various opportunities that abound in Information and Communications Technology.

The MD, who was represented by the Regional Coordinator in charge of Northeast and Plateau State, Ibrahim Bello Dukku, said part of the tournament was also organised to create awareness on how young entrepreneurs could leverage data and connectivity to grow their businesses and become self-employed.

He advised youths to embrace any initiative introduced by the government to empower them, noting that such empowerment could change their stories and make them self-reliant entrepreneurs.

Football stakeholders who spoke at the event commended Galaxy Backbone Limited for bringing different youths together for them to showcase their talents.
