The newly elected Vice President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), Hon. Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki, has pledged the commitment of the new executive board to uphold the highest standards of governance, promote youth development, and expand opportunities for participation at all levels of the sport.
Mailantarki made the pledge following his election over the weekend, during the NTTF Congress held at the Media Centre of the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abuja. The election, he said, reflected the unity and shared passion of delegates and officials dedicated to advancing table tennis across Nigeria.
Speaking shortly after the polls, the Vice President-elect expressed appreciation to the National Sports Commission (NSC) for ensuring a transparent and credible process and commended President Wahid Enitan Oshodi of the African Table Tennis Federation for his supervisory oversight, which further reinforced the election’s integrity.
He also paid tribute to the outgoing NTTF President, Engr. Ishaku Tikon, for his visionary leadership and the solid foundation he built for the continued development of the sport in Nigeria.

Mailantarki described it as a privilege to serve alongside President-elect Dr. Adesoji Tayo, whose experience and passion for the game, he said, would be crucial in driving the Federation’s strategic objectives.
“Together, under the able leadership of President-elect Dr. Tayo, we pledge to uphold the highest standards of governance, foster youth development, and expand opportunities for participation at all levels,” Mailantarki said.
He added that the new board would prioritize grassroots development, especially through school sports initiatives and strategic partnerships aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting the widespread acceptance of table tennis nationwide.
Mailantarki, a former Member of the House of Representatives and 2023 Gubernatorial Candidate in Gombe State, brings a wealth of experience in leadership and sports development to his new role. As President of Mailantarki Sports Group, he has long been an advocate for youth empowerment and talent development.
He expressed readiness to work closely with Dr. Tayo and other members of the NTTF executive to implement programs that will enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness on the continental and global table tennis stages.
