Tiled floorings are durable choices for kitchens, bathrooms and other areas in the home that could get damp or wet from time to time. They are lovely and easy to care for, but over time they can appear dull instead of shiny. The reason for this can be attributed to the type of cleaning products used to wipe them.
There are easy ways to make your tiled floors shine and glitter without stress.
1. Sweep or vacuum the floors daily: Doing this would help to remove dirt such as food crumbs, pieces of debris like broken glass or dust that could accumulate on tiled floors. This should be done before mopping or cleaning it. Then use a dry floor cloth or dust mop to remove any leftover dirt after sweeping.
2. Clean the floor with warm water: If the floors don’t require heavy cleaning or there are little stains, use a damp mop over the floor as this would be sufficient to make it clean. Then rinse the mop in fresh warm water after a section of the room has been mopped. However to give it an everyday shine, use a damp floor cloth over the floor.
3. Dry the floor: Even if you used only water or water mixed with detergent, use a dry mop over the floor until you are done with the mopping. This would help to prevent dust from accumulating quickly.
4. Wipe any spills immediately: No matter how little a drop of water is it should be wiped off immediately because the more it stays, the more it gets into the tiny spaces between the tiles. This should also be done for spilled orange juices or any other liquid, especially sugary ones as they tend to become sticky when they dry up.
These are simple but easy steps to make your tiles shiny. Why not give it a try this weekend?
