The Chief Executive Officer of Caverton Helicopters, Mr. Remi Makanjuola has built a modern lecture hall at Summit University, Offa in Kwara State that can accommodate 500 students.

 Mr. Makanjuola donated the hall in memory of his late mother, Alhaja Adiat Abegbe Makanjuola, at the 11th anniversary of the late matriarch in Offa.

 The Islamic university was founded by the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria last year.

Makanjuola said the idea to immortalise his late mother started in 2005 when she was conferred a merit award by the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria which she joined decades back.

At that ceremony, he said, the idea of establishing a university was mooted and his mother donated the sum of N1 million to that laudable project. 

Thirteen years down the lane, Makanjuola said he is happy that the vision has come into reality with the registration of the faith-based institution by the National Universities Commission (NUC) which led to commencement of academic programmes last year. 

The chairman Board of Trustees, Dr. Musiliu Smith, said the university had befitting facilities, affordable tuition fee, quality teaching staff and good learning environment. 

The vice chancellor, Prof. Hussein Oloyede, said the new hall would improve learning, adding that “Mr. Remi  Makanjuola is  a person who is committed not only to his family, his mother, but  the society at large of which we are one of the beneficiaries as an institution.”
