The government of Oyo State has started the distribution of food relief palliatives to the ‘poorest of the poor’ people in Oyo State.
Daily Trust reports that the distribution exercise, which started on Wednesday kicked off in Oyo town and all the major zones simultaneously.
While the governor; Seyi Makinde was in Oyo Town for the flag-off, the deputy governor, Bayo Lawal was in Saki, and the Chief of Staff was in Ogbomoso for the same purpose.
The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin was in Ibarapa, while the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Wasiu Olatubosun managed the flag-off in Ibadan North-West.

The governor who distributed different food items to various households during a special event held at the Oba Lamidi Adeyemo lll Mini Stadium, Oyo town, emphasised that the state government had come up with a robust palliative distribution system tagged Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAFER) that would attack the economic hardship roots rather that dealing with the symptoms.
