The forum was an initiative of the ministry, which aimed at acquainting at the grassroots people about democracy dividends.

 After taking time to catalogue various achievements of his administration, in the area of developmental projects, Yunusa threw a challenge to any contractor that had not been settled for the work he executed, to come forward and say so.

Among the projects which the council boss said his administration has provided included construction of eight classroom blocks and renovation of existing ones at N7.9million. He equally noted that the council was funding the education of dozens of students of Makoda origin in various institutions of higher learning across the country through the provision of monthly scholarship.

He also told journalists that hundreds of housewives in the local government had benefitted from an economic empowerment program where they received five goats each. The local government he further maintained, spent N300, 000.00 every month to give free drugs to every patient from the council who received treatment at Dambatta General Hospital

In addition to this he stated that 14 asphalted and feeder roads had been provided at different areas of the council. He then seized the opportunity to advise journalists to crosscheck facts before going to press, citing example with the low score that was passed on local council chairmen by the state assembly recently, the chairman said journalists should have come out and educate the people about non-infrastructural projects which local governments perform, and which he said were equally capital extensive”.
