The minister, who spoke last Tuesday in Kaduna, declared that President Goodluck Jonathan developed the North more than past leaders of the region ever did since independence.
According to Maku, the North should blame its past leaders and not Jonathan for the underdevelopment of the region. Maku claimed that northerners should be grateful for the president’s efforts to provide infrastructure in the region.
He said, “There has been a denial, a deliberate denial that President Goodluck Jonathan is not developing the North and there has been an agenda of deceit, which is carried out mainly by people and some politicians in some parts of the North who want to deny the imprint of this administration.”
Maku declared he was ready to debate with anyone on his assertion. Of course, many people also declared their readiness to debate it with him on social media.
