Speaking to Shot! yesterday on the recently constituted board of Pillars FC, the Media Officer said the new management will build on the existing structure and the club will remain a formidable side.
He said Pillars newly appointed Chairman, Alhaji Abba Yola is a seasoned sports administrator who will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the club.
Malikawa said the change in guard is not as a result of lack of confidence in the previous management committee as he noted that the General Manager, Alhaji Abba Galadima and two other members of the past regime are still part of the new committee.
According to him, the change made by the governor of the state, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwase is aimed at strengthening the club and giving it the impetus to excel in its future endeavours.
His words: “The decision to reconstitute the board of Kano Pillars is not going to have adverse effect on the club. It is not for lack of performance. Some members of the previous board are part of the new one. I am still the Media Officer of the club.
“The change will surely impact positively on the club because the new chairman is a seasoned sports administrator. He will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the club. Already there is an existing structure for the new committee to build on. As you know Pillars FC is an institution”.
Malikawa maintained that for now, Pillars is the team to beat in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.
