Mallam who was once a commissioner in Kaduna state called for synergy between all stakeholders in the environment sector while stating her readiness to operate an open door policy in order to achieve a sustainable environment.
She said during a take-over ceremony in Abuja recently that she would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the mandate of the ministry was achieved, “I will tap from your knowledge to also enrich myself to ensure that the mandate of this ministry is achieved.”
She identified cooperative attitude among all stakeholders with her open door policy as requisites to ensuring that the environment is conducive, adding that such efforts would create the necessary pedestal for the actualisation of the transformation agenda of the president.
“I will operate an open door policy so that we can work together as a team to achieve result, we should learn from one another and when things go wrong, with love we can solve those problems,” she said.
She however called on the staff of the ministry to take their work serious and in the event of any issue in the ministry, it will be addressed properly. She also assured that everyone in the sector would be carried along in the affair of the ministry.
Lawrencia who is among the 11 newly appointed minsters recently sworn in by President Goodluck Jonathan took over from Arch. Darius Ishaku who has been supervising the affairs of the ministry following the sack of the former minster in 2013.
