The non release of  250,000 naira monthly contribution by each of the 15 participating local governments areas in Katsina State  is worsening the Community Management of Acute Malnutrition program (CMAM) in the state.
Health reporters met in Katsina at the weekend and observed that the lives of  hundreds of malnourished children who are being treated are at risk.
Already, the essential drugs for the treatment of ailments associated with severe acute malnutrition have been in stock but the LGAs have failed to come up with the funds to enable movement of the drugs to their respective treatment centres.
The malnutrition scheme is part of Save the Children intervention in the state aimed at reducing malnutrition.
From available statistics, Katsina has the highest number of stunted children at almost 60 percent, and Underweight and Wasting in children are about 43.6 percent and  6.5 percent respectively.
