The Galadima of Katsina and District Head of Malumfashi, Justice Sadiq Abdullahi Mahuta rolled out drums for 40 prominent sons and and daughters of his emirate turbaned with various traditional titles.

The occasion, on Saturday February 1, 2020, brought out the best in the culture and tradition of the people who came out in colourful attires.

The Galadima of Katsina, who is a retired Chief Justice of Katsina State, expressed gratitude to Allah and also appreciate His Royal Highness the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, for his demonstration of mutual understanding during the process of the appointments.

Justice Sadiq further said “I would also like to appreciate His highness the Emir of Katsina Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman for his support all along. Because firstly, we were in his palace with the list of appointees, and after he approved it without delay, we later see that there was a need to include some additional people who had also contributed very well to the development of our communities into our list. “We then wrote a new list and took it back to him, he looked at it and signed it immediately. That was a sign of a good leader,” the District Head explained.

Galadima urged all the newly title holders to double their efforts in various ways of bringing development to Malumfashi District as they were selected based on merit and reputations.

According to him, the recipients were chosen base on their contribution to the development of their communities and reminded them whatever they want to do, they should remember they are now representing Malumfashi District as a whole. “Therefore you should do everything possible to protect the interest and the image of the District,” he said.

Among those that received the blessings of the day is the intellectual writer and journalist, Malam Bashir Yahuza Malumfashi who was given the traditional title of Fasihin Galadiman Katsina.  Bashir who works with Media Trust Limited as the Deputy Editor Aminiya expressed his happiness and appreciation to Galadiman Katsina who considered him for the title, the first of such traditional titles in Katsina Emirate.

Bashir further said “in the first place, when I was told I was given this title, I said it was impossible because I know I am not from a royal family. But when later I confirmed it was true, I became over excited. That is why I am committed to put my best within my capacity in bringing development to the emirate.”

Some of the turbaned personalities are Alhaji Maiwada Danmalam as the new Ma’ajin Galadiman Katsina, Alhaji Muntari Ibrahim Mhuta, as Dan’amanar Galadiman Katsina, Sulaiman Lado as Shalelen Galadima, Alhaji Surajo(Albarka Bread) as Danmakwayon Galadima among others.

Among personalities at the occasion are Justice Jamilu Tukur of Court of Appeal, Honourable Babangida Ibrahim Sallau, Member Federal House of Representatives representing Malumfashi/Kafur Local Governments, Brigadier-General Sani Usman Kuka Sheka (rtd) and many other districts head from Katsina Emirate Council.
