A man whose name was said to be Alao and believed to be in his 20s is reported to have hanged himself on Wednesday in Ogidi, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The lifeless body was found dangling from the roof of an uncompleted building with the neck in the noose of a rope.
Neighbours cut the rope to bring down the lifeless body.
The deceased is said to have pulled off his clothes leaving only his shorts before hanging himself.
Although the motive for his action was not immediately known, at press time, sources said he had been complaining of going through tough times.
There was also no suicide note left behind by him.
Many residents of Ogidi community who spoke to City News expressed shock over the incident.
According to a resident who simply gave his name as Taiye, “Alao had complained of going through tough times for some time now. But we never knew it will get to this.
“It was shocking for us when we saw his dangling body after somebody from the community drew our attention to it,” he said.
He added that late Alao was not yet married.
The state Police Public Relations Officer could not be reached for comment on the incident.
