Man, 25, docked over alleged theft of motorcycle

A  25-year-old man, Bamidele Adeleye, has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court over alleged theft of a motorcycle.

 Police prosecutor, Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offence on December 16, 2022 in Ifaki-Ekiti.

Inspector Adeniyi,  alleged that the defendant and others at large stole one Bajaj motorcycle valued at N220,000 belonging to one Odunayo Ajayi.

He said the offence contravened Section 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

The prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him study the file and assemble his witnesses.

His counsel, Barr.  Gboyega Falowo, urged the court to grant his client bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.

The magistrate, Dolapo Babalogbon, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and  adjourned the case till February 5,  for hearing.
