A 26-year-old man, identified as Felix Chinasa Nwafor, suspected to be mentally unstable, has allegedly strangled his mother in Amukpe community in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.
City & Crime reports that the incident happened early hours of Saturday morning.
It was gathered that the suspected mentally unstable man had been living with his mother for some time before the tragic incident.
An eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity said they were attracted to the scene as a result of the mother’s sound.

He said, “When we heard the mother’s voice, we dashed down, only to find Felix strangling his mother. Before we could intervene, the mother was already dead.”
Though the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, was yet to reply to a message sent to him to confirm the incident, a source close to the command said the family arrived at the police station with the lifeless body of the mother and the mentally unstable young man in chains.
