An Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, chief magistrate court has remanded a 28-year-old man, Shola Oguntuase, who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl, at the Ekiti Correctional Centre, Ado-Ekiti. An Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, chief magistrate court has remanded a 28-year-old man, Shola Oguntuase, who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl, at the Ekiti Correctional Centre, Ado-Ekiti.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court on Tuesday that Oguntuase committed the offence on June 7, 2020 at Ire-Ekiti, in the victim’s house.
Inspector Akinwale urged the court to remand the defendant at the Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the office of the Ekiti State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olanike Adegoke, granted the prayer and adjourned the case till August 3, 2020 for mention.
