Man, 29, faces trial over theft of 31 TV sets

The police in Lagos State, have dragged a 29-year-old man, Rasaq Rilwan, before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, over alleged stealing of 31 pieces of television sets valued at N1.42 million.

The defendant, whose address was not given, is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 11, alongside others now at large, at the Trade Fair bus stop in Lagos.

The Magistrate, L.K.J Layeni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Layeni adjourned the case until April 30, for hearing. (NAN)
