The police on Monday arraigned a 38-year-old man, Chinedu Eze, before an Ogudu Magistrate Court for allegedly assaulting his lover.
Eze, who resides at Ikosi Ketu, is facing charges bordering on alleged assault and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Sunday Bassey, informed the court that the defendant committed the offences on Jan. 27 at Adeyemi Street, Ikosi, Ketu.
He alleged that the defendant assaulted his lover, one Ms Blessing Nwafor, by engaging her in a physical fight.
Magistrate Mrs O.A Daodu, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until March 18 for trial.(NAN)
