An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State, on Monday, sentenced a 49-year-old man, Tunde Odunwaye, to three and a half years imprisonment for fraudulently obtaining goods worth N1.3 million.
The Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Fadairo, said that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Fadairo sentenced the convict to three years and six months imprisonment with an option of a N300,000 fine.
Fadairo added that the convict must also restitute N861,000 to the complainant, Mrs. Salako Imole.
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offences on Jan. 23, 2023, in the Ijoko area of Ota in Ogun. (NAN)
Adaraloye said that the convict fraudulently obtained 10 cartons of chickens and 36 live turkeys under the false pretence of paying back the money after he sold the item. (NAN)
