The Ekiti State police command has arraigned one Segun Apalowo, 50, at a chief magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged assault and threat to lives.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on December 12, 2024, at about 8pm in Ado-Ekiti, the defendant assaulted one Ogunleye Cecilia and caused her bodily harm.
Inspector Oriyomi said on the same date, time and place in the magisterial district, he assaulted one Segun Ojo and threatened violence against the people.
The prosecutor noted that the offence committed is punishable under sections 186, 184 and 69 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to admit her client to bail, adding that he would not jump bail.
The magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till February 11, for hearing.
