A 52-year-old staff of the Ekiti State University, EKSU, Davies Noel, who is alleged to have committed an offence of incest and rape of his 12-year-old daughter, has been ordered to be remanded in prison by an Ado Ekiti Magistrates’ Court.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abdullamid Lawal, ordered Noel to be remanded after he pleaded not guilty to the charges of rape and incest.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Caleb Leramo, informed the court that the accused committed the offences between 2018 and October 2019 at Peace Avenue, in Ado-Ekiti.
Caleb said the 12-year-old girl confided in an outsider who narrated the story to a teacher who reported the matter to the police.
The police inspector noted that the accused confessed to the crime and the medical report conducted on the girl shows that her hymen has been broken.
