A Federal High Court in Kano State has sentenced a 55-year-old man to seven years imprisonment for the procurement and sexual exploitation of a 15-year-old girl.

The convict, Idris Yunusa, of Lamido Crescent in Nassarawa LGA of Kano State, was found guilty of exploiting the young girl.

Justice S.M. Shuaibu, who delivered the verdict, emphasised the court’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of vulnerable individuals, particularly the minors.

The sentence is without the option of fine, reinforcing the judicial stance against sexual exploitation and trafficking, he said.
