The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Edo State has arrested a 64-year-old man in connection with seized 5,650kg of cannabis.

It was gathered that the drugs were discovered in warehouses located behind Tipper garage, in Egor and Ugwella-Gidi village in Ovia South West local government areas respectively.

It was further gathered that the suspect, Daniel Idemudia, was residing in one of the warehouses where the cannabis was discovered by operatives of the NDLEA.

The seizure is coming barely few weeks after the command publicly destroyed 136,844kgs of various narcotic drugs mainly cannabis.

Addressing journalists yesterday, the State NDLEA Commander, Buba Wakawa, said the seizures were made based on intelligence report. 

He said, at the warehouse in Egor, 208 sacks of dried weeds weighing 4,200kg were discovered while 125 sacks of dried weeds weighing 1,450kgs were recovered at Ovia South. He said the drugs at the Egor warehouse were hidden inside the ceiling of a bungalow.
