The police in Ogun State yesterday arrested a 65-year-old man for allegedly defiling a 10 year old girl.

It was gathered that the suspect, Sulaiman Rauf, was arrested following a complaint lodged by the father of the victim who reported at Idi-roko divisional headquarters of the command.

The victim’s father reportedly said that the suspect who lives in their neighborhood sent his daughter on an errand, and “when the girl came back, she was lured into his room where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.”

The complainant added that the victim quickly informed her father of what the suspect allegedly did to her hence the report.

A statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi said following the complaint, the Divisional Police Officer, Idi-roko, promptly arrested the suspect.

“On interrogation, the randy old man admitted having carnal knowledge of the victim but claimed not to know what led him to it. The victim has been taken to General hospital for medical attention and report,” Oyeyemi said.
