Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 75-year-old man identified as Mr Olu Idika, for allegedly defiling a 7-year-old girl and her friends.
It was gathered that the incident happened in Ikhin community in Owan East LGA of the state when the suspect defiled the victim and some of her friends after luring them with N100.
It was gathered that youths in the community pounced on the suspect after he was caught in the act but was saved by the police who came to arrest him after the case was reported at the Otuo police station by one of the victims’ mother.
The state police command spokesman, Chidi Nwang Chibuzor, confirmed the incident, saying the case started in Edo North but was granted bail by the police.

He said the suspect was later moved to Benin by his family member for fear of the unknown.
He said an interested party reported the matter at the Ugbor police station in Benin leading to the arrest of the suspect.
He said the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigative Department of the command for further investigation.
SP Nwanbuzor assured of justice in the matter.
