Man accused of killing niece’s lover remanded in prison

An Ilorin magistrate court yesterday remanded a farmer, Matie Ali, for allegedly killing one Fensa Dogo after accusing him of dating his niece.

The accused person, who was alleged to have killed Fensa with a machete, was arraigned on a one-count charge of culpable homicide.

The magistrate, Ibrahim Dasuki, ordered the remand of the accused at the Federal Medium Security Prison, Mandala, Ilorin, after he refused to take his plea.

Dasuki adjourned the case till Nov. 20 for further mention

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Zacheaus Folorunsho, told the court that the accused was arrested after the complainant and father of the deceased, David Dogo, on Oct.  21 reported the incident at the police post in Gwanara. (NAN)
