Man accused of removing wife’s teeth during fight in Lagos

A 40-year-old trader, Nwabunwanne Nnamdi, has been arraigned before the Apapa Magistrate Court sitting in Ajegunle, Lagos, for allegedly knocking out his wife’s teeth during a domestic brawl.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on December 23, 2024, at the couple’s residence in Satellite Town, Lagos.

The defendant allegedly assaulted his wife, Okeke Chidimma, by giving her fist blows on her face, which led to her losing some teeth and sustaining injuries.

The charge sheet read in part: “That you, Nwabunwanne Nnamdi Michael, on December 23, 2024, at Satellite Town, Lagos, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault one Okeke Chidimma by giving her fist blows on her face, which led to her losing some teeth and sustaining injuries.”

Michael pleaded not guilty to the charges, and his counsel applied for his bail.

The Magistrate, Mrs. O.R Williams, granted the accused bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case.

On adjourned date, the prosecutor informed the court that the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) has requested him to hand over the file and the court granted it and further adjourned the matter until it receives the DPP’s report.

The matter was adjourned till October 13, 2025, for the DPP’s report.
