Detectives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a middle-aged man, Peter Dike, for allegedly stabbing his wife to death in the Ilogbo Eremi area of Badagry.
The suspect was alleged to have killed his wife over a minor domestic quarrel they had on Wednesday morning.
Though, details of what transpired is still sketchy as at press time, some neighbours alleged that the suspect was used to beating up his wife at the slightest provocation.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, saying what led to the killing was avoidable.

Hundeyin said the incident, which was currently being handled by the homicide detectives at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti Street, Yaba, was first reported at Morogbo Police Station.
He added that policemen from Morogbo police station, who were on a surveillance monitoring duty at Oke-Ira area of Ilogbo Eremi, got information about the incident.
“On arrival at the scene, the officers met the suspect and he was arrested with a blood-stained kitchen knife with which he allegedly stabbed his wife.
“The lifeless body of his wife, aged 38, was found in front of him in a pool of blood. He was taken to the station where he was interrogated. He confessed to the crime.
“The corpse of the deceased has since been removed and deposited at a morgue in Badagry,” he said.
