Man accused of unlawful act with woman in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti State have arraigned one Samuel Akapo (26) at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over an indecent act.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on or about September 19 in Ado-Ekiti, the defendant engaged in an unlawful and indecent act with a woman.

Inspector Oriyomi said that the defendant thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 149(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister T. E. Akinwumi, urged the court to grant his client bail in liberal terms, assuring the court that he will not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until November 3 for hearing.
