The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a 26-year-old man, Denis Amase, at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged theft.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, on November 11, 2025, at Oke Oja Street, Aramoko-Ekiti, allegedly stole a Tecno POP 9 phone valued at N100,000 and two ATM cards, all property of one Jenifa Godwin.
Inspector Oriyomi said Amase and one Felix Agbase, on the same date, time, and place, allegedly withdrew N1,900,000 from three of Jenifa Godwin’s accounts and converted the money to their personal use.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Joy Raphael, urged the court to admit her client to bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until January 9, for hearing.
