Man admits peddling 920gm of cannabis sativa

A Federal High Court in Ibadan on Monday ordered one Sadeeq Jimoh, 52, to be remanded in a correctional centre after pleading guilty to peddling 920gm of Cannabis.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Nkeonye Maha, ordered Jimoh to be remanded in Agodi Correctional Centre after the one-count charge of unlawful dealing in narcotics was read to him.

Maha subsequently adjourned the suit until June 2, for presentation of facts and judgment.

The Counsel to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Oyo State, Mr Daniel Otunla, had told the court that the defendant committed the crime on March 9, in Ifan, Osun State. (NAN)

Otunla said that the NDLEA operatives received intelligence reports from its informants that Jimoh was in possession of a banned narcotic substance.

“The NDLEA operatives swung into action and arrested the defendant in possession of a bag containing 920gm of Cannabis sativa,” he said. (NAN)
